Are you looking for a change of pace? Three Fridays a month are “Fun Fridays” at the Community Center.

Movie Night – The first Friday of each month is Movie Night hosted by Dorian, featuring old classics (like “The Maltese Falcon” or “The Goddess”) as well as newer films (like “Gods and Monsters”, “Trans and “Brokeback Mountain”). Many are GLBT-related, either through theme, story or the actors in them. Admission is $3... The fun starts at 6:30 p.m.and lasts until the end of the film.

Game Night – The second Friday of each month is Game Night hosted by Simon. It’s usually “Players Choice” – with games like Tile Rummy (aka “Rummikub”), Hand and Foot (like Canasta but even more fun), Scrabble and Pinochle as many of our popular favorites. Game Night runs from 7-10 p.m. (sometimes a bit later) with a “table fee” of $5.00. Have a favorite game? Bring it along and we’ll introduce folks to it! Prizes for winners in each different game.

Poker Night – The fourth Friday of each month hosted by Marie. It’s “Texas Hold-‘Em” for fun, not for profit. Your $5.00 admission buys you $1000 in chips. The biggest “stack” at each table at the end of the night (around 10 p.m. or a bit later) wins a prize. Poker starts at 7 p.m., arrivals at 6:30 for those needing quick instruction in the game.

All events offer unlimited refreshments for an optional $1.00 charge.
