The Center is proud to announce that it received a Mini Grant from Love Makes a Family in the amount of $1,500. This will enable us to accomplish some goals that we have long been wanting to do: update our membership database software, improve our physical space at 14 Gilbert Street, and add programming for the community. We are very grateful that Love Makes a Family invited us to submit a grant proposal and that they believed in the Center by giving us this generous grant. The grant was a wonderful way for us to close 2009 and begin 2010 and we thank them for the grant as well as the enormous work they did on behalf of LGBTQ people for marriage equality.
In 2010, we will be submitting more grant proposals to various organizations and individuals in order to strengthen the Center and increase what we can offer our community. Key priorities for the upcoming year are to continue to improve how we serve our membership and to broaden and deepen our offerings to the community at large. We want to offer members special packages and discounts. And we want to bring concerts, readings by authors, lectures and more to New Haven and other locations in Connecticut to provide more ways for LGBTQ people to socialize and support one another.
