Our winter was as busy as it was cold but spring is finally upon us! After a very successful wine tasting in November and holiday party in December, we had a fantastic 2011 Dorothy Awards. Read more about the Dorothy Awards here!
The board would like to give a special "shout-out" to our dedicated volunteers: First, to the many who were selfless enough to donate significant amounts of time and energy to ensuring that our 2011 Dorothy Awards event was a wonderful evening for everyone. It was exciting to see faces both old and new, including a large group of students from both Quinnipiac University and UConn. And we're also very thankful for our friends from the Yale School of Management. A group of students spent an entire Saturday afternoon in February preparing and cleaning our space for future meetings. Our offices have never looked so good! Thank you to all who volunteered; please know that you helped to make a difference.

Our regular group meetings took place all winter long (when the weather allowed!) including GLANCE, Rated Q/NHPC Youth, Sing!, Rainbow Support, Poem Haven, and Transgender Social/Support. This month, we have our first Pride Hikers event of the year; we are also co-sponsoring the first annual Pride Prom, with Yale's Fierce Advocates and the United Church on the Green; and we are thrilled to be holding our very first Volunteer Committee Meeting of the year! It's a very exciting month for us. For a full list of events, check out our Events page; of course, visit our Groups page for information on any of our groups.
We continue to accept applications for our first scholarship, the New Haven Pride Center David Knapp Scholarship, up until May 27, 2011. Get your applications in today. Click here for more information.
Stay tuned to our website for information about our Spring and Summer events, and be sure to contact us at if you would like to volunteer, or if you have a suggestion for an event.
