Remember the Center During the Holidays
Published Oct 1, 2008
This is the last newsletter of the year, and many of you will be receiving this just as the holiday preparation begin to move into full swing. As the year draws to a close, remember the Center when it comes to your holiday giving.
As many of you know, with the Dorothy Awards scheduled in the late winter, this is the time of year where things become most challenging for the Center and the halo from the previous event fades away. Your donation helps us maintain critical operations in the winter time, as we lead into our busiest time of year.
As the Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your donations are tax deductible and really go a long way to helping the Center. Donations made before the end of the year can also be used as a tax deduction for your 2008 tax return.
Our donation form is below; we appreciate your assistance in helping us grow and maintain our services. This year has been particularly healthy for the Center, which has grown its Friday night line-up of Fun Fridays, brought in new organizations like Women & Families and Ursamen in our continuing efforts to diversify, and has yielded new partnerships like those with Centerlink, a national GLBT community centers organization, and the Cyndi Lauper True Colors Tour. 2009 looks to be even better, with the board continuing to work towards is long-term plan to grow and build.
We also urge those of you who may be interested to get more involved to contact us at nhglcc@gmail.com. With the annual Dorothy Awards planning underway, we would love to have your help in making this event the best ever! We also need help in a number of areas in running the Center, and volunteers are how it all happens.
We also invite you to join us for our holiday party, to be held Thursday, Dec. 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Each year, the board holds a holiday party for our members and volunteers as a way of saying thank you for your involvement. The party is free and open to all, and food will be served.
