We are looking for drag artists, divas, go-go dancers, burlesque performers, activists, and everyone in between to compete in the 5th Annual PRIDE New Haven Pageant. At the 5th Annual PRIDE New Haven Pageant, competitors will compete in three different categories (talent, interview, and fashion) to win our amazing prize package and the title of Mx PRIDE New Haven. Who is going to take the crown?

This year’s competition will be hosted by Miss PRIDE New Haven 2018 Mia E Z’Lay.

History of the Pageant

The PRIDE New Haven Pageant was created for the 19th PRIDE New Haven in 2017 by Pageant Producer Sylvia Heart. What started as a “happy accident,” has grown into a full pageant modeled after many of the regional and national pageant systems. Originally pageant contestants opted to enter either the “Mr” or “Miss” category. In 2020, the Center eliminated these outdated binary titles to switched to a single “Mx” category. Winners are expected to represent PRIDE New Haven for an entire year at major events throughout Connecticut and attend the following years’ pageant to help with crowning the new title holders.

On Friday, September 17th, 2021 we will host the Title Competition with the pageant contestants will compete in each category. Contestants will show off their best looks, perform a “pride” inspired talent showcase, and wear their best evening wear look for a judges Q&A. Our judges, with audience support, will select the final winner. This years’ pageant will be hosted by Miss Gay New Haven 2018 Mia E Z’Lay.

The 5th Annual Pride New Haven pageant will also be streamed live on Twitch TV.
