WHAT IS YOGA
Yoga was developed up to 5,000 years ago in India as a comprehensive system for well-being on all levels: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. While Yoga is often equated with Hatha Yoga, the well-known system of postures and breathing techniques, Hatha Yoga is only a part of the overall discipline of Yoga. Today, many millions of people use various aspects of Yoga to help raise their quality of life in such diverse areas as fitness, stress relief, wellness, vitality, mental clarity, healing, peace of mind and spiritual growth.

About the Trainer
Ginette (she/her) is a certified personal trainer and a registered yoga teacher (200 hr). She was raised in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico and speaks fluent Spanish. Ginette moved to Connecticut in 2010 to attend Albertus Magnus College. Due to her auto-immune disorder, Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism, Ginette focuses on functional movement, body awareness, self-love, and self-care.
As a bisexual woman, in a Latinx and Roman Catholic culture, Ginette’s experience with the LGBTQ+ community has been mostly in the last decade, through a kind and supportive friend group. Ginette is honored to be giving her time back to a community that emotionally healed her, through the practice that physically healed her.
