Join us in the historic Lyric Hall Theatre for two performances of Queer Queens of Qomedy, a seriously funny night of comedy. Headlined by Poppy Champlin, and featuring comedy performances by Mina Hartong, Michele Durant, and Reece Cotton.

Poppy Champlin is a one woman wrecking crew.  She sings as well as keeps the audience laughing with a huge vault of comedy material she has accumulated over her 30 years in the comedy business. She has made appearances on Joan Rivers where she won the title “America’s Funniest Real Woman.” She has been on Comedy Central, VH-1, Showtime, Comics Unleashed, and many more.  A regular on Olivia and Atlantis cruises, Poppy has traveled the world doing her comedy routines.  A real professional, she delivers a knock out performance every time.

Mina Hartong is an award winning comedienne and playwright. She has headlined Pride all over the world, including Washington DC, Amsterdam and Sydney’s Mardi Gras. Last year, Mina was a finalist at the Ladies of Laughter Contest produced by Peggy Boyce. When she is not on stage, she teaches standup, acting and improvisation at the Regional Center for the Arts in Trumbull, CT. She is proud to have come out right after Ellen DeGeneres in 1991 in Fairfield County.

Michele Durante has been leaving them laughing in the aisles from coast to coast!  She’s cutting edge and tackling subjects such as her own sexuality and her time on in the South Bronx as a New York City narcotics detective.  A Long Island native, Michele stays true to her roots and doesn’t hold back… all in the interest of laughter and fun.  As “Officer” Durante likes to tell her audiences: “One time I responded to the scene of a domestic dispute between two women.  Luckily, I was able to get in the middle!” Some clubs she has performed at are Dangerfields and Gotham in NY as well as Manchester England and Edinburch Fringe Festival.

Reece Cotton effortlessly fuses humor with controversy and is one of the most sought-after emerging comedians hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. She is making her TV debut on Comedy Central’s second season of Kevin Hart Presents: Hart of the City. While hosting the 2017 Women In Comedy Festival, Reece delivered her signature mind-bending performance and was immediately approached by a representative from ADULT SWIM (Cartoon Network) regarding a potential collaboration. She recently was featured on live radio with WGBH 89.7 Under the Radar with Callie Crossley and performs at esteemed New York comedy venues such as Caroline’s on Broadway, Gotham Comedy Club and Broadway Comedy Club. Consistently devoted to her community, Reece founded an open mic and charity fundraiser called Straight Outta Money in 2015 and volunteers at multiple comedy festivals.
