Jonathan Cuebas

Jonathan Cuebas is a Marriage and Family Therapist at InterCommunity in East Hartford, Connecticut and has served in the Connecticut National Guard for the past 20 past. Outside of his work he is an active member of the community. He is the reigning Emperor of the Imperial Sovereign Court of All Connecticut. In January 2017, Jonathan followed his passion for fitness and became a licensed Zumba instructor.  

Vu Tran

Vu Tran is a licensed Zumba instructor and teaches at classes and events across New England. He has been teaching for five years and loves sharing his passion for dance and giving back to the community. Vu is also the Imperial Crown Prince and Board Treasurer of the Imperial Sovereign Court of All Connecticut as well as the Board Treasurer of the Connecticut TransAdvocacy Coalition. In addition, Vu is a singing member of the Hartford Gay Men’s Chorus and volunteers with True Colors. 

Vivienne LaFlamme

PRIDE After Party

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Vivienne likes to start with a smoulder, move to a slow burn and finally leave the audience in their ashes. She started burlesque in 2011. She took some classes at the New York School of Burlesque and that’s where she got her start. Since then, she’s performed all over New England and New York City-including some festivals. You’ll see her most of the time in New Haven, so catch up with her, but don’t get too close… or you might get burned!

Joel Melendez / Matica Arts

Co-founder of the touring duo Matica Arts, has traveled the Americas performing, collaborating and training. He is a gifted performer known for his unicycling, clowning, improvisational, and acrobatic skills. Joel is a “physical artist” who loves exploring the vast capabilities of the human body. For many years he was the director of the Advanced Circus Program at the Children’s Circus of Middletown and teaches at many awesome organizations including Oddfellows Playhouse (, Green St Arts Center, and ASAP ( ). He is also a Capoeirista and has been practicing 1999. He is a student of Mestre Pinga Fogo. Currently, Joel teaches Capoeira at Plus 1 Defense in West Hartford and at his studio, Thrive Movement Studio, in Harwinton

Imperial Sovereign Court of All Connecticut

The Imperial Sovereign Court of all Connecticut (ISCofAllCT) is an non-profit organization that raises money for other non-profit organizations throughout the State of Connecticut. Our primary purpose is to provide a social union that secures equality, liberty and justice and to promote positive morale and pride throughout the community. After 20 years of raising money, the ISCofAllCT has given away close to $500,000 to nearly 25 different nonprofit agencies and groups across Connecticut. Look us up on facebook : @ctimperialcourt

Kendall Marie

PRIDE after Party

Kendall Marie is a burlesque jazz dancer from Hamden, CT. She has performed in New York City, Norwalk, and New Haven, CT in various shows including Lyric Hall and The State House. Kendall is known for infusing acrobatics into burlesque, creating the ultimate tease. When not performing, she can be found teaching French and dance classes.

The Men of Eden are Connecticut’s premier male entertainment company. The MofE have been in business and performing at LGBTQ+ clubs and venues throughout Connecticut and beyond for over five years – you can catch them at Trevi Lounge on Wednesdays and the fourth Friday of the month, and at Chez Est in Hartford on the first Friday. Heidi Kirchofer / Matica Arts

PRIDE Block Party

A performing and teaching artist since 2000, Heidi has traveled internationally performing, collaborating and training. She is inspired by the moving body and it’s vast capabilities. She loves the synthesis of creativity and physicality that circus explores. She spends most of her training time on aerial fabric and trapeze in her studio Thrive Movement Studio in Harwinton, where she is a coach and director.
She is also co-founder of the touring duo, Matica Arts, whose focus is on Circus, World Music, and the Moving Arts. Matica can be found performing at many festivals, events, and schools in the North East. She is also the creator of Whole Body Math, a curriculum infused kinestheic moving math program-both for young learners and as a Professional Development for teachers.

Allison McDermott

PRIDE Block Party

Allison McDermott is a circus artist raised and trained at the Children’s Circus of Middletown in Middletown, Connecticut. She continued her circus education at the New England Center for Circus Arts in their Professional Track Program. She currently resides in Connecticut is touring her most recent circus works, This is Arstagram! And CYCLES. Allison is excited to return to PRIDE New Haven for the 3rd year.

Sensei Chris, owner of Okami Karate Dojo is an avid practitioner of martial arts and self-defense. With 20+ years of experience we utilize core techniques that can be used in variety of situations. We focus on verbal and social, as well as physical strategies grounded in statistically realistic scenarios.
