Sans Cherubs is one of the most enduring and endearing New England folk-rock bands. Their sound defies categories but delivers a universal voice with a healthy side of wise-ass and humor. Out and proud since 1995 with a couple of staunch allies mixed in, The Cherubs eclectic sound has shared stages with everyone from The Violent Femmes to Catie Curtis… and played venues as diverse as Pride festivals, folk venues and NY clubs.  This coming year promises even more with new songs, sounds and venues and a brand new recording in 2020.

Suzanne Sheridan

Suzanne Sheridan is a professional photographer, a professional singer/songwriter/philosopher, and co-owner of The Legacy Project USA. She has won many fans along the way. For five years she hosted and performed at a series called “Coffeehouse at the Wheelers’” for the Westport Historical Society. The concerts she developed through this series – tributes to Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Carole King, Carly Simon, and James Taylor – have gone on to other venues such as Voices Café and also to other countries including Canada and Australia. Her musical career began with singing jingles for companies such as Pepsi and Hasbro Toys and writing and performing her original songs in many venues. She has won awards and recognition for her music and many will recognize a song she co-wrote with her life partner Rozanne Gates – “90 Pound Suburban Housewife Driving in Her SUV.” Ms. Sheridan’s band “The Suzanne Sheridan Band” performs in many venues covering many musical styles and genres including the American Songbook of classic American songs by songwriters such as Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart, and Cole Porter. Ivy Spillman is a local producer, singer and musician originally from Missouri. She spent four years in California and has spent the last six years in the Fairfield County area. Carrie Ashton’s passion for music has been long standing; she began performing at the age of thirteen and never looked back. For almost 20 years, Carrie has been performing and perfecting a stage show that is unpretentious and captivating. She performs solo acoustic as well as with her band, and travels throughout New England and the east coast. Carries has shared the stage with Natalie merchant, the Go-Go’s, REO Speedwagon, Antigone Rising, Van Sant, and Lucinda Williams. She has an innate ability to read the crowd and move them with her unique style and charisma, and her energy on stage is hard to ignore.

One Night Stand Band

In April 1998, when Suzanne Sheridan and The One Night Stand Band took the stage at the sold-out lesbian rock show, “She’s A Rebel – Fearlessly Going Where No Woman Has Gone Before,” they thought that was it. So here we are 21 years later, and The One Night Stand Band with Suzanne Sheridan has gone on to do more than a one-night stand. In 2018, they were asked to perform at the New Haven PRIDE Tea Dance, which they did. They rocked the walls off of 168 York Street Café bringing people off the street who needed to find out where that blazing music was coming from. They are back to rock the block at the 2019 New Haven Pride Block Party on Saturday September 21. Suzanne Sheridan (vocals and rhythm guitar). Bob Cooper (keyboards), and Jake Habegger (drums) are ready to rock and roll you. Let’s dance!!

Radio Stevie

Sometimes known as Stephen J. Grant, Radio Stevie is a rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer from New Haven, Connecticut. Radio Stevie debuted with the EP “Rap Queen”, released on Up Style Records in 2016. Recorded in Brazil, the EP combined influences from hip-hop, post-punk, pop and Brazilian music. It was received favorably in Brazil, including a feature in G1, a music resource run by Globo, the largest commercial TV network in South America. In Brazil, Radio Stevie also performed with the jazz collective, Superjazz, under the musical direction of bassist and composer Bruno E, and in collaboration with Dudao Melo. With Superjazz, Radio Stevie performed in some of Brazil’s hottest jazz clubs like Bossa and Jazz nos Fundos. In the spring of 2017, Radio Stevie followed-up with his self-produced mixtape, “HOME” and the single, “KILLER.” He followed up with a string of singles such as “Hands Up!” and the soulful dance song “Everybody”, that was a featured track on Oxigénio, a Lisbon-based radio station. His feature in the upcoming single “Prejudice” with singer-songwriter Julia Sicone, was a top 10 finalist in the 2018 International Songwriting Competition. Radio Stevie released his sophomore EP, “HOME AGAIN” in August 2019. His unapologetic attitude and empowering lyrics delivers a message of self-acceptance.
