Support and Social Groups

Affinity Groups

Affinity groups are support and social spaces for individuals who share an identity. As spaces for peers to come together, they are a vital component of the Center’s support services.

The Center is home to many different types of affinity groups meant to create safe spaces for different folks within the community. The goal for these groups is to build a community of care by providing opportunities to come together, share experiences, cultivate friendships, and support one another.

Most of these groups are peer-led and would not be possible without the incredible support of community leaders and partner organizations who volunteer their time to organize and run the Center’s groups.

In addition to the New Haven Pride Center affinity groups, you can also check out some of these amazing groups in the community.

Interested in Starting a Group?

The New Haven Pride Center is always open to form new affinity spaces for the community! We also welcome community groups that wish to use the Center’s space for their meetings. If you are interested in helping to start a new group or you lead a group that would like to start meeting at the Center, please contact our Case Manager Freddie Swindal.
