Navigating rental and utility assistance:

The Housing Choice Voucher Program is one option for subsidized rental housing. There are no current postings. If you haven't already done so, you can subscribe to be notified by email when a new posting is made.

Elm City Communities / Housing Authority of New Haven (ECC/HANH) is the public housing agency serving the City of New Haven. Through their affordable housing programs, residents pay no more than 30% of their income toward their housing expenses. Individuals interested in submitting a preliminary application may apply during open enrollment.

Enter your town or zip code into the 'My Location' field to narrow down community based programs that may be available to you within each off the categories described. For assistance with food:

Connecticut Foodshare’s Mobile Pantry provides food at more than 100 locations in a no questions asked, outdoor “farmers market” setting. Items offered typically include fresh produce and other perishable foods. For dates and times of Mobile Pantry locations near you, use the map below or text FOODSHARE to 85511 and follow the prompts.

Our Food Pantry
The New Haven Pride Center's food pantry receives its regular deliveries every-other Monday from Connecticut Foodshare. Occasionally, we receive donations of food items in-between deliveries from other sources like our greater community.
