In 2024 and 2025, the New Haven Pride Center served over 15,000 people annually, holding over 350 events each year with the support of over 100 volunteers. The Food Pantry, Hygiene Pantry, and Clothing Closet served 200 individuals monthly, while the Case Management and Support Services program provided over 5,000 hours of support and assistance to LBGTQ+ community members. In 2026, we folded under a financial crisis and then came roaring back to life thanks to the incredible generosity of our community.​

 

Going forward, here’s the plan: We’re in the process of rebuilding our staff and growing our board. In 2026 alone, we have added six new members to the board who bring expertise and fresh vision to the organization.

 

We also have new leadership on staff, including Acting Executive Director Chris Freimuth and Programs and Operations Manager Jesse Giorgio. We are conducting a thorough Community Needs Assessment in Fall 2026 to gauge the needs and interests of the broad LGBTQ+ community in Greater New Haven.

 

With information from the assessment in hand, we will begin coordinating widely with partner organizations; facilitating collaborative events, programs, and resources; and working with our hundreds of volunteers to create, support, and help manage our programming.
