Social Programming at NHPC

The New Haven Pride Center’s programming is vibrant, welcoming, and designed to meet the diverse needs of our community. We offer a wide range of opportunities for connection, growth, and support, whether you’re looking for social groups to make new friends, supportive spaces to share your story, or programs that celebrate our diverse cultures and identities. There truly is something for everyone here. We invite you to join one of our many groups and experience the sense of belonging and community we’re proud to cultivate!

Social Spaces

Learn more about our social spaces below!

Queer Men's Book Club

Our Queer Men's Book Club meets once a month on the second Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00PM. This is a group for queer men to connect, share perspectives, and explore books that reflect and celebrate their experiences. Click here to join this group!

Pass the Plate

Pass the Plate is the Center's monthly community dinner! This is a space for community members to make connections, new friends, and try out new foods. We provide food but folks are more than welcome to bring a plate to share. Pass the Plate usually falls on the first Wednesday of the month from 5:30 to 7:00PM. Register for our next one {here} -- link coming soon!

Rainbow Reverb

Rainbow Reverb is the Center's open mic night and is all about highlighting the incredible queer talent in our community. Any performance style is allowed - think singing, poetry, comedy, etc. - and sign-ups are first come first serve. Next date is TBA!

Hella Queer Bazaar

The Hella Queer Bazaar is a bi-monthly vendor fair hosted at the New Haven Pride Center that highlights our local LGBTQIA+ artists and small businesses! This is an all-day event that happens on Saturday from 12:00 to 6:00PM. Next date is TBA!

Stitch & B...Chat

Stitch & B…Chat is a welcoming, multi-generational crochet and craft night where community members can come together in a safe space to chat, create, and learn new crochet skills. Whether you’re an experienced crafter or just starting out, it’s a great place to relax, connect, and make something beautiful together! Next date is Aug. 25th at 6:00PM.

Zen Space

Ninth Square Zen offers space for people to explore Zen meditation and mindfulness, create and participate in community, and celebrate life together. They are non-dogmatic practitioners and welcome people of all faith traditions or none who want to learn and practice together. Ninth Square Zen is an open and affirming space for all. The weekly practice at Ninth Square Zen includes sitting meditation (zazen) and walking meditation (kinhin) and time to explore how we meet Zen in our daily lives. They meet every Wednesday at 7:30AM and walk-ins are welcome!
