Mary Lambert with Aisha Burns in Concert

Stay & Play: PRIDE New Haven

Join us for our PRIDE New Haven Stay & Play. All of our books will highlight LGBTQ+ stories, authors, and characters. We encourage attendees to dress to impress in their very best pride-themed outfits! Stay & Play is story-time for children up to five years-old with a caregiver. A half-hour program of stories, singing, and movement is followed by free playtime. 

PRIDE Family Gathering

A Bronx teen is looking for real love and trying to find a way to communicate and connect with her family about her hidden identity as a lesbian. Gripping and painful, this film is rated R and viewer discretion is advised. The runtime is 1 hour and 26 minutes.

Make a shirt to show off your pride! We’ll show you how to use markers and rubbing alcohol to make an easy, low-mess, tie-dye effect. Celebrate PRIDE by decorating a shirt using the colors of the pride flag of your choice or just have fun making rainbows!

In Luca, a young sea monster disguises himself as a young boy to feel a part of the human world. Set in the Italian Riviera, Luca is a story of acceptance and the bonds of friendship. This film is rated PG and is 1 hour and 35 minutes long.

Connecticut Pets and Handlers returns to PRIDE New Haven for our annual Pride Social & Dance Party! Chris Stedman Q&A and Book Signing

Gay author and professor Chris Stedman discusses his new book IRL: Finding Realness, Meaning, and Belonging in Our Digital Lives. Chris Stedman is a writer, activist, and professor who currently teaches in the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Augsburg University in Minneapolis, MN. He is the author of IRL and Faitheist, and the creator and host of Unread, named one of the best podcasts of 2021 by the Guardian, Vulture, HuffPost, Mashable, and the CBC. Additionally, Chris has written popular essays for outlets including the Atlantic, Pitchfork, BuzzFeed, VICE, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and the Washington Post.

Previously the founding director of the Yale Humanist Community and a fellow at Yale University, he also served as a humanist chaplain at Harvard University. In 2018, Augsburg selected Chris for their annual First Decade Award, which recognizes alumni “who have made significant progress in their professional achievements and contributions to the community” ten years after graduating.
